20 years

Today marks the 20th anniversary of this here weblog, which means I’ve officially been blogging for more than half of my life. Whether I’m in your RSS feed or just a random post you stumbled upon, thank you for reading!

October 2, 2006, does feel like a whole lifetime ago. The Dow Jones hit a record high of 11,850, Justin Timberlake’s “SexyBack” topped the Billboard Hot 100, and the Martin Lawrence animated film Open Season was #1 at the box office. Heady times.

My realizing I’ve been doing this for 20 years now.

I’ve reminisced before about my blogging journey at 10 years, 17 years, and 18 years, plus other blogging-related posts. At 10 years I picked out two posts from each year I was most proud of or best represented my interests at the time, so I figured I’d do that again for the 10 years since. (Dive into more in the archive.) Enjoy!
